#10 African Boerboels – 9 Years
Also known as the South African Mastiff, the Boerboel is a large breed of dog that was bred explicitly for guarding one’s home. They were often used as working dogs on farms, and they’re extremely powerful.
However, along with their size and power, this dog’s life expectancy is not long lived. The African Boerboel’s life expectancy is only about 9 to 11 years. While they were first bred as working dogs and guard dogs, the Boerboel today is calm, stable and obedient, with high intelligence and energy.
They’re quick to bond with their humans, and will definitely be your best friend for life – even if their life is markedly shorter than other breeds. All the same, you’ll love your Boerboel for all eleven years of their life.

#4 Landseer is not a breed, it’s a color of Newfoundland.
