Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Volunteer in Protection (VIP) Officer was leaving the parking lot of a gas station when he noticed something strange behind a semi-trailer truck.
As the truck moved back into the freeway, the cop noticed a poor dog being helplessly dragged behind truck.

The dog was tied to the truck and was having a hard time keeping up with the truck.
The Arizona officer knew that stopping the truck wasn’t in his range of duties, but he still activated his lights and siren and alerted the driver.
The driver was confused at first, but he eventually stopped as the officer kept trailing him.
When the officer enquired about the situation of the dog to the driver, he explained that he loved his dog very much and had tied the dog to the truck’s bumper so that the dog could get some fresh air.
But for some reason, the driver got distracted and forgot to untie the dog before leaving. After realizing the danger he had put his dog in, he repeatedly apologized for his actions.

As of now, no charges will be filed against the driver as the dog was unharmed thanks to the officer’s timely intervention.
We hope this incident serves as a reminder to people to check up on pets and make sure they’re secured before departing.
