Dog Was So Frightened, He Ran 30 Blocks With A Broken Leg To Evade Rescuers

Hope For Paws received a call regarding a dog who had been hit by a car in a nearby neighborhood and seemed to be in severe pain.

Since the pup was injured, rescuers wanted to get this poor dog help as quickly as possible. Rescuers, along with some Good Samaritans, tried to secure the area, but he was so scared that he ran away.

Rescuers continued to chase him, but he refused to surrender. He ran nearly 30 blocks with a broken leg and then hid. They spent 45 minutes looking for him, and thankfully, they finally found him under a car.

One of the rescuers, Loreta, slowly approached the dog with some food. He came out from under the car and was willing to eat from her hand. That’s when Loreta grabbed ahold of him and quickly slipped the leash on.

They decided to name this poor pup Echo. They immediately brought him to the hospital, where they learned that his leg injury was even worse than they originally thought. It was crushed from the car accident and wound up being beyond repair, so sadly, it had to be amputated.

The surgery was a success and Echo made a full recovery. He may have three legs, but he doesn’t know he is any different and it definitely hasn’t slowed him down! Now the only thing he needs is a loving forever home. In the meantime, he will be living with a foster and getting the best care.
