Mama Abandons 6-Day-Old Polar Bear, The Cub Hugs Look-Alike Teddy To Find Comfort

Nora the polar bear was abandoned by her mother when she was just 6 days old. She howled at her mother for attention, but her mother never looked back.

The zookeepers of Columbus Zoo saw that Nora could barely regulate her body temperature and her chances of survival seemed slim.

Nora’s twin had already died a few days after birth. But the zookeepers didn’t want to give up on Nora just yet.

Although it was rare for a fragile polar bear cub to survive without a mother, the caretakers worked around the clock to try and keep Nora’s health stabilized.

Hoping against hope, the caretakers fed Nora milk, cuddled her, and even bought her a giant teddy bear to ease her feelings of loneliness.

Seeing the stuffed look-alike, Nora was overjoyed and she would keep hugging the toy for comfort and to find strength to go on.

Since Nora was away from her pack, her predatory instincts never kicked in. She was blissfully happy being an oversized puppy to her caretakers.

She would chew toys, play in water and dance around bubbles without a care in the world!

Soon, Nora was old enough to greet visitors. She instantly enchanted the crowd by being her natural self.

She pranced and skipped in the water for her guests and enjoyed the love and attention showered on her. How cute!
