Man Chokes His Dog & Threatens To Drop His Dead Body From Balcony

Residents at an apartment building in Boynton Beach, Florida phoned 911 recently after they witnessed a disturbing act of violence against a dog.

Police hurried to the scene where they saw 36-year-old Jonathan Goldstein who earlier had strangled a dog and threatened to throw the animal from a balcony.

As police approached Goldstein, he was walking near a phone store with a small brown dog in between his hands. He appeared to be choking the animal.

According to the police report, “The dog appeared lifeless and Goldstein refused multiple commands to place the dog on the ground.”

The officer did not see another officer holding a Taser gun on the man. Witnesses say Goldstein was aggressive and screaming while the dog whimpered loudly. Sadly, the dog died.

Goldstein’s bond was set at $10,000 and a judge ordered him not to have contact with domesticated animals or any of the witnesses to the act. He was transferred to a mental health facility for psychiatric evaluation.
