Concerned Neighbor Says Dog Died Alone & Chained Up After Days In Scorching Sun

Dogs should never have to suffer because of careless owners, but we hope stories like this one raise awareness to stop pets from needlessly dying every single day.

Police are involved in an investigation to try and figure out how a dog died in his owner’s backyard recently.

A concerned neighbor called Animal Control and told them the dog was outside in the sun for days.

The good Samaritan doesn’t want her identity revealed but she told authorities it is important that she speaks out on the dog’s behalf.

According to the woman, the dog was chained up and unresponsive in the hot weather.

She allegedly tried to her best to help the dog, but “20-foot walls” prevented her from accessing the animal or providing him water.

As proof of the dog’s conditions and his suffering, the neighbor filmed evidence with her cell phone. She called and emailed Animal Control authorities repeatedly, but allegedly only received one reply of “thank you.”

“It’s [sic] over 100 degrees out and it literally torturing an animal to death by denying it water and some kind of shade from the sun,” the woman wrote.

She says it took several days for authorities to respond and by then, the dog had suffered and died. The North Las Vegas Police Department says, “This is an active animal cruelty investigation and any potential charges will be based on the outcome of the investigation.”

Gina Greisen, an activist and president of animal rights group Nevada Voters for Animals, shared the graphic video on Facebook.

Thanks to everyone who tried to help save this dog’s life and to those who are seeking justice in this case.
