A 4-year-old American Bulldog named Ritter was recently dropped-off at the Humane Society for Hamilton County in Indiana. The surrender came after unfortunate times had fallen upon his family. They had lost their home and were left with no other option but to surrender Ritter.

As seen in this photo shared by the shelter, Ritter has been destroyed by this development. He misses his family too much and he fails to comprehend why he has to be in this cold shelter all the time. Heartache and grim hopelessness have seeped into his soul now. He submissively hangs his head in grief and refuses to make any eye-contact.
A few days ago, we covered a similar story about Stormy the Pit Bull who was dumped by her family to make space for their 5th child. Like Ritter, Stormy too had turned into a depressed dog and was put on the shelter’s kill list.

In Ritter’s case, the photo shared by the shelter went viral, hitting over 3000 shares. This turned into a second chance for Ritter, as a loving family soon came forward to adopt him! His new family promises to nurse his broken heart with love and care, and make him feel safe and wanted again. Hang in there, Ritter, you’ll be okay!
