Simon Cowell adopts “new arrival,” adorable dog named Pebbles — see the precious photos

Many of us were introduced to Simon Cowell as the harshest judge on American Idol, but in real life he has quite a soft spot — especially when it comes to animals.

Recently, Cowell added a new furry friend to his family — and introduced her to fans with some adorable social media pics.

The America’s Got Talent judge, 64, announced last week that his family “has had a new arrival,” a beautiful dog named Pebbles.

Cowell shared two photos of himself with Pebbles, clearly smitten by his new pet. Fans also loved the new arrival. “Pebbles got the golden buzzer,” one Instagram user joked.

“I just KNEW deep down you were a softie,” another said.

Cowell later shared another post of Pebbles with his 9-year-old son Eric. “LOVE,” the former X Factor host captioned the photos.

Cowell is a dog lover who has many canine companions, including Yorkshire terriers Squiddly and Diddly, a Pomsky dog named Odin who he adopted in August 22, a mixed breed dog named Daisy he adopted in 2018, and a Yorkshire terrier named Freddie who originally belonged to Cowell’s mother; he took the dog in after her death in 2015.

In 2022, he was seen on the America’s Got Talent red carpet with Odin:

In addition to having many beloved dogs of his own, Cowell has used his fame and fortune to help dogs in need. In 2018, he donated $32,000 to Humane Society International to help shut down a South Korean dog meat market, saving the lives of 200 dogs.

“Simon’s generous donation means the world to us, and provides a huge boost to our appeal to close this horrendous dog meat farm,” HSI UK Executive Director Claire Bass said in a statement.

In 2020, he got to see firsthand the impact of his generosity, after he was surprised with one of the puppies he saved from the slaughterhouse:

In 2014, he donated £25,000 to Manchester Dogs’ Home after it was struck by a massive fire, and has also supported Cruelty Free International, a group aiming to stop dogs from being used in laboratory experiments.

“I have always loved dogs but had no idea how much happiness they would bring to my life,” Cowell wrote in 2015. “Squiddly, Diddly and, now, Freddie are hugely important members of my family – and even the thought of any dog being mistreated sickens me.”

“No dog should be treated in such a way. After all, they are man’s (and woman’s) best friend.”

Welcome to your new home, Pebbles! Simon Cowell is a true friend to animals and we know this beautiful dog will be loved.
