Many of us have gotten our cars stuck and need a little help from other motorists. But when one SUV got stuck in Tennessee recently, help came from an unexpected source.

As Tennessee was struck with severe winter weather and heavy snowfall this week, an SUV driver in Ethridge became trapped in a snowbank.

Thankfully, the vehicle soon got a tow from a fellow driver — but not the kind you’d expect. A local Amish man offered to help the motorist out by having his horses pull the SUV out of the snow.

Local woman Sandra Sam Newton was there to record as the horses were attached to the car.

“We’re gonna see if this ‘horse power’ works,” Sandra is heard saying. “Amish wrecker service.”

In a remarkable scene, the horses pull the SUV with all their might as a group of men push from the front. After a few attempts, the car is pulled safely out of the snow.

Tennessee has been hit with extreme winter weather in recent days, with heavy snow and sub-zero temperatures. The weather has left 14 people dead and a state of emergency was declared as the cold puts a strain on the state’s power system.

It’s a difficult situation, so it’s inspiring to see people of all walks of life looking out for each other like this, even in the most unexpected ways.
