Stray Dog Help Kindergarteners Each Day To Cross The Street Safely

Batumi is the capital city of Adjara, located on the Black Sea in Georgia. It is also the home of a viral sensation dog named Kupata, which means ‘sausage’ in English.

Every day, the dog waits for school children to arrive, Sausage acts as a crossing guard for the children so they are safe from local traffic.

Each day, a group of kindergarten children arrive at the crosswalk and every day, Sausage is there for them. He strolls over to any cars in the area and barks at them as if to say “stop and wait for the kids to cross.”

Then, in the spirit of safety, he stands in the middle of the street with the kids and helps them get to the other side. The adorable children all hold hands, their teachers are nearby, and Sausage makes sure they are out of harm’s way.

When a vehicle shows up and doesn’t stop for the kids, Sausage is not happy about it and barks at the driver. For his loyalty and service, the Adjara Department of Tourism and Resorts awarded Sausage with a “People’s Choice” appreciation star.

Since stray adoption of dogs isn’t a common behavior in Georgia, the government oversees the animals and takes care of them. They built Sausage a wooden house where he’s lived for the past four years. Every stray dog is tagged by the government and they are all fed and given baths regularly.

Watch this very good boy in action in the video below.
