Teensy Babies Hid Beneath Roadway With No Mama & No Clean Air To Breathe

With a stray animal epidemic in much of the world, litters are born everywhere. Usually, a mother dog will go where she feels most safe but sometimes labor comes on fast and puppies are born in dangerous places. Or the mother will move the litter, one by one, if food is scarce or if she feels unsafe.

In either case, these two puppies ended up under a busy roadway, in a tunnel beneath. There was little oxygen and it was only a matter of time until the puppies’ health declined.

Rescuers were called in and brought supplies. They placed food at the mouth of the tunnel hoping the wee ones would smell it and come out.

Delighted by the food smell, the puppies came running but then got scared and went back in. The rescuers had no choice but to crawl in and grab them. It was dusty and hard to breathe.

The rescuers looked for their mother. They couldn’t find her. Volunteers sat around and waited for hours. She never came back.

The puppies were taken to the emergency vet. They were covered in dirt, dust, and fleas. Their skin was also infected. But one thing was for certain: the puppies were incredibly adorable!

The vet also dewormed the puppies and administered their first puppy vaccines. They were good patients! Next, it was time for a flea bath. Both babies were very well-behaved.

The rescue group reached out to a foster home nearby and the foster mom was delighted to take them in until they got bigger. At their foster home, they made new friends! They’re so playful! Adorably naughty too!

Then a very exciting phone call came– the puppies found a forever home together! Not only were they saved but they had a true happily ever after. HOW WONDERFUL IS THAT?!
