What's In It:

Like milk, cheese also has sugars and fatty components that dogs don't have the necessary enzymes to break down.

What It Can Do:

Cheese, and other dairy products, can cause problems if consumed in excess. Symptoms like gas, diarrhea and vomiting can all occur if a dog eats too much cheese.

  1. Every dog I have ever owned has eaten cheese as a treat, not an excessive amount but nevertheless has had cheese, none of them have suffered because of it. My eldest dog was 16 and had cheese as a treat from day one at 10 weeks old and he never suffered.
