This may sound weird, but it’s no joke: tennis ball bombs are a real thing, and they can cause serious injury or even death to humans and dogs alike.
It’s best to completely avoid any strange ball when you’re out and about — not only around July 4th, but anytime. Better safe than sorry.
People may or may not be purposely targeting dogs with these bombs, but it’s hard to fathom why someone would go to these lengths to create something so potentially deadly and horrific.
Either way, just remember to do yourself and your dog a favor and stay clear and report anything suspicious to the police.
