Fearful Homeless Dog Warned Rescuers That She’d Bite, But They Didn’t Listen

Hope For Paws received a call regarding a homeless dog who had been wandering around the streets.

The dog was extremely nervous and didn’t let anyone get near her, but rescuers wouldn’t give up until the rescue was successful.

Animal Control had previously set up a trap to catch her in, but the dog wouldn’t go anywhere near it.

When rescuers arrived, the dog would aggressively flash her teeth at them whenever they approached her. They knew the situation was dangerous, so they had to be careful and were willing to take their time.

They tried to get their gentle snare around her, but she continued to show her teeth and growl. She didn’t want to surrender, and now it was getting dark outside.

Rescuers began to give her food to distract her, and were able to get the snare around her. Eventually, they got her into a cage and transported her to a vet.

At the hospital, they made a fake arm using a broomstick, a blanket and a glove, so they could pet her and get her used to being touched, without risking getting bitten.

They spayed her and bathed her, and soon she was already acting like a whole different dog. She realized that not everyone was out to get her, and soon she craved attention rather than feared it.

She is now a happy and playful pup who is looking for a forever home. If you’re interested in adopting Maddy, please visit www.GermanShepherdSafeHaven.org.
