Man Sees Dog Stranded On Isolated Road, But It Wasn’t The Dog Who Needed Help

Fate has a funny way of putting people in the right place at the right time, like truck driver Martin Hall Jr. who was in the middle of nowhere California after getting lost. Little did he know, his detour would lead him to an unexpected surprise.

When he was met with a fork in the road, he didn’t know which way to go. So he took a guess, a guess which led him to spot a stray dog. Martin pulled over to see if he could help the pup out. At first, the dog was not responding to his calls. So, Martin tried to coax him with food. When he didn’t feel like he was getting anywhere, he started to film his meetup with his phone in case someone on social media could recognize the dog. Then he left the dog a sandwich and went on his way.

But something just seemed off. The dog had a leash and laid in the middle of the road. It just didn’t add up and something was telling Martin to turn back. Fate perhaps? He trusted his gut and pulled over again to investigate a bit more.

“Something inside me said, ‘Try again,’” Hall recalled. “It was like the dog was saying, ‘Everything is wrong. My owner is around here somewhere. Don’t leave yet.’ So, I got out of the truck and started another video. That’s when I heard something.” The Dodo

He started another video, but this time he was in for a big surprise when he heard a man calling out. What he found was proof that you should always listen to your gut instinct. Laying there on the side of the road was a man with another dog by his side who was in medical need. The man had been lying there, injured from a fall while walking his dogs, for about 7 hours. Had Martin not listened to his gut, the man could have met a grim fate.

“There was just a series of events that took place to put me there,” Hall said. “It was kind of overwhelming, after the fact, how everything transpired to bring me there at that point.” The Dodo

Martin immediately called 911 and soon after the man was taken to safety. It was later disclosed that both dogs were rescues, an ironic twist since the dogs were the ones doing the rescuing this time.

Fate has a funny way of putting us where we need to be when we need to be there. Martin didn’t know that morning that he’d be saving a man’s life. And the injured man surely didn’t know he would fall and be stranded in the heat, on a dirt road for 7 hours. But fate aligned them and with the help of a smart dog who blocked the road, a life was spared.
