Well, that general rule does not apply in this case. When a dog wrinkles its snout, it is definitely not in a loving mood.

Make no mistake about it, a rumpled muzzle means nothing good. The action is meant to warn that the dog is not happy, and you should probably take a few steps back.
Don’t be fooled by all the puppy love, dogs are animals at the end of the day, and they know how to defend themselves.
