Persimmons may seem like a harmless treat to give your dog, since it’s a fruit and isn’t made up of chemicals. However, you’ll want to keep your dog away from this particular sweet treat.
There is a natural chemical that’s found in a persimmon, and when ingested, can turn gluey when it reacts with your dog’s stomach acid.
Although the occurrences of this happening are admittedly rare, it’s always better safe than sorry! Better to just keep your dog away from persimmons and stick to feeding them an alternative dog-safe fruit.
