Cheese is often used as a treat for most dogs, even despite the fact that dogs have a lot of trouble breaking down the enzymes in most cheeses.

Blue cheese, however, is particularly dangerous to dogs. Most blue cheese contains something called roquefortine c, which is a substance that dogs are incredibly sensitive to.

When ingested, blue cheese can cause vomiting, diarrhea, tremors and even seizures of the cheese is eaten in high enough doses.

If your dog has managed to get into the cheese – and especially the blue cheese! – make sure to take them to a vet to get checked out. It’s best to keep all cheese of the menu for your pup, however.
