Vegetables may seem like a safe bet to feed your dog when you’re giving them stable scraps – and most vegetables are in fact harmless! However, corn is different in that it can be very difficult to digest in your dog’s stomach.
If your dog somehow gets a chunk of corn on the cob and swallows it, it can cause an intestinal blockage. After all, even humans aren’t meant to eat the cob!
If your dog happens to get a hold of a cob of corn, make sure to take them to the vet just in case, even if you’re not sure if they swallowed some of the cob. An intestinal blockage can be dangerous and even fatal.
